So, after having our nomination process finished, here are the 12 possible choices for the NGD Award for 2022. You may vote for up to 4 comic creators. This poll will run from tonight until Thursday, November 3rd at 5 PM. The TOP THREE vote getters will be inducted into the EYG Hall of Fame. Thank you for the support.

Happens every year.... We will induct three comic creators in the NGD Award. The top two vote getters so far have been Jolly Blackburn and Ben Edlund. They have been inducted. However, we need a third one and we have a four way tie. So... we are going to have a TIE BREAKER vote. You can vote for ONE of the four creators. The poll will not run for long. Who ever has the most votes will join Jolly Blackburn and Ben Edlund in this year's NGD Award.

Good day to everyone here at NGD! As some of you may know, I run a website called Embrace Your Geekness and at that website, we have a Hall of Fame. We do a poll every year where we at EYG nominate several items, people, characters, movies etc. and the top vote getters are inducted into the EYG Hall of Fame. This is the EYG Hero Games NGD Award that we do every year (this is the seventh year for this award) How this works: I am looking for nominations from the community of NGD for the best comic book artists or comic book writers of all time. I would ask that you nominate those creators who you think have…

Over in the Funny Pics II Thread there was a bit about Gary Larson realizing that Ishtar wasn't as bad as the comic strip he'd written made it out to be. You may have seen it (the thread, not Ishtar). So if Ishtar isn't the worst movie, then what is?

Eric D July, also known as Young Rippa) is a talented and opinionated individual. He is a Musician, commentator and writer. I often watch him on TouTube. He has not been satisfied about the direction that Marvel and DC have taken. Now while I used to have a severe comics habit, mine attenuated to nothing a few years ago, around the time Meltdown Comics on Sunset closed its doors. From what had been a $100 a month habit dwindled to nothing, with a few exceptions I will go into later. Eric, a very enthusiastic DC fan felt the same way, but decided to put his money where his mouth is, and put together a crowd funding campaign to not just finance a comic, but finance a compan…

Robbie Coltraine has passed today. I always envied him a bit: it is hard to be an actor with his physical, size and not get type cast (at least, it is hard in the US). I knew him from Nuns on the Run; my kids knew him from Harry Potter. I dont ususally do the "a famous guy has died" threads- it is the pilrice or living, after all, and none of us are getting out any way but the same, but he always seemed like such a vibrant person. RIP, Hagrid.

This is an experiment to get my ass writing again. Whether I will ever actually use this in a published work or not remains to be seen, but I need to get myself motivated and I figure trying a bit of writing here might help. This will be the roughest of Rough Drafts. I Hope folks enjoy. I'll try to write at least a paragraph each day. Let me tell you something about superhero costumes; they work best in certain situations. Most of us, superheroes that is, are in good physical shape. Even if your powers aren't physical in nature, you end up dodging, chasing (or fleeing), punching now and then, and generally working up a sweat just to get by. Some of us are blessed w…

So, hand washing glasses and plastic; not unusual. Hear a THUD!! What... The faucet's turning looser than it should... Wait...what's that big gap...... Cheapo home builders. Granite countertop, great! Undermount sink, fine. ONLY using glue to mount it...not so fine. The glue gave out. The better way is to support the weight; the glue will fail. It lasted for about 10 years, tho, so the builder's off the hook. And of course it's Friday afternoon. And these days, service people tend to be VERY busy. First countertop people said...late September. OK, that's not good. Next one said Monday. YAY! Can't…

I find myself wondering what the most memed tv show is. I keep seeing a lot of the same sources over and over again, so which one is used the most? Not making a poll, because I'm sure there are some I'm just not thinking of. So here are my nominations for most memed tv shows, GIFs and static images. (Movies later, maybe.) In no particular order: Friends Schitt's Creek The Office SpongeBob SquarePants Golden Girls Rick & Morty Game of Thrones What else should be considered? Do these line up with anyone else's experience?

Sword and Sorcery Superdraft. We are building new fantasy Sword and Sorcery series from scratch. Worlds will be separate, except that elements can be shared if another player agrees. You must create your own characters and other elements, not draft them from elsewhere. Close analogues are fine, so you can have characters like Conan, Elric, King Arthur, Thor, Hercules, etc., but not the actual characters. The setting is completely blank. You will need to contribute your ideas to build your setting and populate it with a variety of life. Here's what you'll need to choose. Protagonist: This is the main character in the stories. T…

It might seem early to start this thread, but national signing day is looming, actually. Plus, there was this. Jim Harbaugh is getting flown to Minnesota to interview with the Vikes. On national signing day. Uh. Huh. Instead of being, hopefully, a day to sign a bumper crop of new sacrificial lambs because you just won your conference and made the CFP...your coach is bailing. How does that look to a kid? Now of course, it's Harebrain. He might just say he didn't think of the optics...and I'd believe him, most likely, since it wouldn't be the first time by ANY means.
