Help me out, I'd like to design a powerful TK EC or MP for Magneto, but he seems to be able to use it on anybody, despite the magnetic special effect. So w/out crippling him against non-ferrous material, how would you showcase his magneticness. I also don't want him to be too insanely powerful. How does AE TK work? How about TK only to lift/grab? He's also going to be sporting a physical lim to the effect of loses powers in environment absent of metal. Anyway, how would you do it? I hate whatever I come up with and he always ends up being way too point heavy.

Ok I'm creating abiliteies for an Ice Multipower. I want him to be able to create Ice to support /reinforce items. Heres what I'm thinking. Tk with the following limitations, physical manifestation and only for supporting/reinforcing objects...the only thing I dont know is how much the secon lim would be worth. Or if you can think of a better way top buy it please suggest away.

I am thinking about a character with various powers among them is entangle. One of the hallmarks of the character is that he has personal immunity to all his own powers. For instance he could use an entangle to form a barrier, and then walk right through it. Another effect would be that he could entangle a target. That entangle would act as a normal entangle vs. everything and everybody else, except that the character could walk up and punch whoever is entangled, bypassing the DEF & BODY of the entangle. His EB would affect the entangle since they’d presumably be the same energy frequency (or some other reasonable sounding excuse). In essence the guy can sort of …

Below is the FAQ I've constructed, with a lot of help from people here on the boards. Special thanks to Rob Rogers, who had a copy of the old FAQ. Constructive criticism is always welcome. If anyone wants to start an argument, go elsewhere. Global Guardians Universe FAQ What is a PBEM? A PBEM is a game played through email. Chess, for example, is played through email by each player taking turns exchanging chess moves. When we use the phrase PBEM on this website, we specifically mean a role-playing game played through email. What is "role-playing", and how does one "role-play" in a game? Role-playing is the assumption of a character or a rol…

Something I just thought about while at work (it was slow, I was bored). I had an idea for a gas-using villain in my Teen Hero game, which has a weather-manipulating PC with the 'Shield Of The Winds' power. In theory, if my baddie blows a puff of KO gas at him, the winds should dissipate it before he has to breathe it. I'm trying to decide if I should make this a limitation on the gas power, or if linking a Dispel Damage Shield to his wind-shield is the 'more correct' way to do it. You'd think that having a bullet-deflecting windcurrent wrapped around your body would do a number on any gas or smoke clouds you come in contact with, even without actively trying to d…

Assuming that one eschews the traditional genre assumption that even the minimalest facial alterations are able to keep a secret ID sacred, and realistic criminology investigative abilities are in place (not super-tech, just CSI stuff), what steps do you deem a superhuman should take to keep a Secret ID reasonably safe ? I was thinking of characters having to totally change physical appearance with power activation, or completly masking the face like Spiderman or Iron Man, always using gloves, taking care to keep identities wholly separate (no "my mundane ID is publicly known as best friend/business associate/main contact of my hero ID"), taking care to avoid plotting a p…

Hi, I sort of boxed myself in a corner with my last adventure. The campaign is kind of a Ultimate DC setting , with the player characters playing versions of the Justice League (Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern primarily). The last adventure ended with Superman getting mind controlled by the never before seen Poison Ivy. I had planned on starting the next adventure with Batman investigating a series of attacks on some companies by a super being, only to discover that the attacks are being made by the mind controlled Superman. The problem is that I am having trouble coming up with the actual Poison Ivy plot to drive the story. Any ideas would be greatly appr…

I'm looking to add some roughly 80 AP power stunts to my duplicator's elemental control. These should be powers with SFX of "creating/using duplicates of himself" without using the actual Duplication power (which sits by itelf outside the EC). Thank you in advance for your nefarious and inspired commentary.

I've heard alot about how people view Dr. Destroyer and the various power levels GM's play him at. I thought I'd throw out one of the robots Destroyer's created. The players groan when they see this one. It's still in pre-5th edition rules so I'm not putting down the costs. Of course, I intend to update this to 5th edition. This 'robot' is more of an android but hey, so what. Although it's primary purpose to to guard, it has also been used as a tank. The picture I used was from an old 'The Avengers' comic. It's the issue where Ultron has sent a robot to Henry Pym's lab to acquire Ad Resin X and Ad Resin Y, the Wasp meeting it during the night. If anyone knows what issue I…

Okay, i have posted these guys before, but for my own reasons I am going to post them again. Put simply I had them scattered on 2 other threads, after I am done here I will be cleaning up one of those threads to use it for something else (as it was always intended for but got mildly sidetracted), as for the other thread it will be mostly forgotten (I do not beleive I can delete the whole thread) Okay: In my world the job of the GLC is filled by a group called the Star Knights. They are heavily inspired by an old DC title called the darkstars, with some Knights of yore thrown in. The orrganisation is made up of Five levels: The group is ran by a council, unde…

Just thought I'd share this. Recent campaign we had one characters who would show up for a battle and, no matter where it was, three guys dressed as monks would show up and take notes and get onlookers to fill in questionaires about whether this one character would 'make a good Messiah'. Eevry time he tried to talk to them about it they started quoting things he'd said before prefixed with 'Thus spake the Holy One....' Freaked him right out. I know it is a bit silly but it worked well as a recurrent theme in the game and leaves all sorts of interesting plot development areas open. Try it out. You'll like it. Anyone else use any interesting methods to foster cre…

It's late. I'm sick, and I can't seem to sleep. I also have this hero idea tumbling around in my brain that I think is cool, but I don't even know if it's possible. The essence of the concept involves a character that has a multipower that he can't normally use. He also has an Endurance Reserve and a Transfer. The Transfer goes into his Endurance Reserve, and the Endurance Reserve is the only source of power for the Multipower. Oh and the Endurance Reserve starts at zero. So what do you think? Totally gimped design or as cool as my medicated head thinks? All criticism is appreciated.

Here's the idea, please give suggestions: The character, whom we'll tentatively call REACH, has a "cosmic awareness" type of sense. Reach leaves their body at a moment's notice (leaving it vulnerable, like with Astral Travel) but cannot go far. They are then able to observe the area from a 3rd person perspective and can take in all kinds of details that weren't previously noticed. I mean, everything from the fact that the carpet has fleas to the spider in the corner building a web, to the erratic heartbeats of characters and the smell of an ever so slight gas leak in the kitchen. Here's the catch. The reason they can't go far from the body and generally stay…

He was a Legion of SuperHeroes member, nothing but energy in a suit. He'd fire beams out of his hands, feet, face. He could fly. Once he fired his entire "essence" and his suit fell to the floor, empty. Everyone thought he was dead - after a while he was able to get back into his suit again. I don't remember much else about him, and wanted to make an Erg-type character. Anyone remember what he could do? Flight and energy-blasts and an accidental change - was that all there was to this guy?

There's been some lists compiled of Stupid Speedster Tricks and Stupid Brick tricks, how about one for mentalists (Meaning Telepaths and other non physical mentalists, Teeks could use Brick tricks)? Here's a couple I thought about: Universal Translator, Psychic -1/2, cost endurance to start. The Telepath scans the surface (verbalized) thoughts of those around her to gain understanding. If all the minds around her non organic or sheilded, she can't translated. This power does not allow the mentalist to speak a language she is physically incapable of doing. Levels with Pre Based Skills, Cost Endurance, visible to Mental Awareness. The Mentalists uses Telepathy or…

In your stories (or in the CU assuming you use it), assuming a superhuman has an origin like mutant, psionic, alien, science accident/deliberate experiment or special heritage (hypervoluted subrace, child of a god), how feasible is to tinker with/reproduce with the char's superpowers via biotechnology. Eg doing feats like reproducing, enhancing or combining the powers of one or more superhumans in a clone (eg like Magneto's clone, Marvel's Nefaria duplicating and enhancing powers from low-end bricks, energy projectos and speedsters to turn oneself into a Superman on steroids), creating bioweapons tailored to target superpowers, inducing in a bioengineered clone a precise s…

What type of damage would a regular old explosive (like a Stinger missile, let us say) be? I can see cases for both PD from the shockwave and ED from the heat ... what do you call it?
